VP of Finance

Position Summary

The VP of Finance is responsible for providing division management and Corporate with timely and accurate financial management expertise, statements, reports, forecasts and analyses. Performing accounting services, establishing division accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Division President to ensure the division’s activities are managed in compliance with division and corporate objectives and in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare annual financial plans, development, and financing proformas and packages.
  • Prepare tax and audit information as needed by the Company.
  • Establish and review budgets for land development, homebuilding and marketing and administrative expenses. Generate financial analyses of existing and prospective developments.
  • Ensure absorption of costs by determining appropriate allocation procedures, transfer prices and amortization rates.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements, reports and forecasts as required.
  • Administer project financing, including the preparation of budgets, draw requests and reports, and repayment of interest and principal.
  • Oversee processing of invoices to insure the accurate and timely payment in accordance with contracts, and budgets; ensure that property is protected from mechanics liens.
  • Ensure proper classification of revenues and expenses.
  • Responsible for cash management.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience through the controller level.
  • Experience in real estate development and/or production building preferred.
  • Certification as CPA or CMA preferred.
