Assistant Field Manager

Position Overview:

The Assistant Field Manager supports the Field Managers with the home building processes. With direct supervision from the Field Manager:

  • Effectively and efficiently coordinate the on-site construction process resulting in product that is quality, on time and within budget
  • Establish and maintain effective subcontractor relations
  • Provide service to customers, which results in a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Safely manage assigned home sites

Major Functional Responsibilities:

With direct supervision from the Field Manager:

  • Construction process as assigned
  • Subcontractor coordination/supervision
  • Cost control on assigned home sites
  • Communication with customers, on-site Sales Agent, and construction organization
  • Regulatory agency on-site compliance

Key Duties: Coordinate assigned construction phases to result in a quality home, which is delivered on time and within budget. Over time, must take homes from start to finish.

  • Work with direct supervisor to identify, retain and effectively manage subcontractors
  • Ensure that assigned home sites comply with safety program and other regulatory requirements
  • Team with assigned Sales Agent to ensure high satisfaction level in Customer Service
  • Proactively communicate any construction, customer service or safety issues to Project Manager with suggestions for resolution
  • Ensure assigned home sites are in order and appealing to customer
  • Maintain accurate scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or another business-related field/equivalent years of experience in construction related field may be considered.
  • Computer literacy strongly preferred
  • Valid/Active Driver’s License required

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Must be able to perform calculations
  • Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all equipment
  • Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard equipment
  • Use of feet and legs required to walk, climb, and maneuver with construction sites
  • Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

  • Work is generally performed on the construction sites. Occasional work will be performed in a typical office environment. Work is typically active in nature, and typically in fast paced environment.
